FAQ:

  • Q1 - How do you bake/export textures?
Update • Tiny Eye 1.3 will come with baking capabilities.
A1 - Video Demo (Bake Textures manually) / Video Demo (Bake Textures with Add-on) [Only in Tiny Eye 1.3]
At the moment, you would have to dive into the Node groups and bake textures the old school way. Honestly, I made this eye to work only in Blender because it’s where I do all my works. But I promise once I find a solution and have the time, I’ll drop an update including a demo vid.
  • Q2 - Why can't I see the eye after dropping it into the scene?
    A2 - Video Demo
Since Tiny Eye was modelled according to scale (25mm in Diameter), it's really small. After dragging it into the scene:
    1. Make sure the Eyeball is selected
    2. press Alt + G to reset it's location
    3. Then press Numpad "." or F3 and search for "Frame Selected"
  • Q3 - Why can't I see the Iris in EEVEE?
A3a - For Blender 4.2 and above, set render engine to EEVEE, then under "Render Properties", turn on Raytracing.
    A3b - Video Demo
For Blender 4.1 and below, set render engine to EEVEE, then under “Render Properties”, turn on Screen Space Reflections and Refraction.
A3c - Tiny Eye 1.2 and below: under “Render Properties”, scroll down to “Light Paths” and increase “Transparent Light Paths”. Also, Update Blender (at least version 3.2).
  • Q4 · Why does the Cornea appear black?
    A4 · Video Demo
In Cycles, under “Render Properties > Light Paths > Max Bounces, ensure that "Total" is at least set to 2, and "Transmission" is at least set to 1. You may have to increase them if your scene includes multiple glass shaders or has glass objects placed between the eyes and your camera/viewport.
  • Q5 • Why is it so laggy?
    A5 • 3:23

Before you read the license agreement, I want to clarify that you can use, remix and include Tiny Eye in your commercial works (artworks, advertisement, courses, characters, films, promotion videos, video games, etc) and you don't have to credit me whenever you use Tiny Eye, as long as you don't claim that the asset is your own when the question arises. Credit is always welcomed, but it's not mandatory! Hope this clears things up!
